Third Annual OICR Fellowship in Critical Theory + Filmmaking

The Oregon Institute for Creative Research announces its third annual Fellowship in Critical Theory + Filmmaking.  Applicants can be critical theorists interested in the subject of film and filmmaking or filmmakers interested in critical theory.  More broadly still, we will consider light-based artists working at the intersection of still photography and the moving image as well as documentary filmmakers, both traditional and experimental.

The recipient will receive a full-tuition scholarship to the School of the Oregon Institute for Creative Research, along with a stipend of $5,000, to be disbursed in three installments at the beginning of each term—fall, spring, and summer.

The prize recipient will also be eligible for the Bex Frankel Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center.  This $4,000 award covers all expenses of a month-long artist residency at the Center in addition to a travel stipend in the amount of $1,000.

If interested, please follow the application procedure at https://oicr-e4.org/apply, noting on the application form your interest in the Fellowship and submitting two samples of your work by Friday, February 7, 2020.  The winner of the prize will be announced by Tuesday, February 11.  Inquiries can be directed to oicr@oicr-e4.org.
